A Guide to Providing Memorial and Special Gifts
We, the First Congregational Church of North Attleborough, welcome gifts given
in memory of those who have been, and continue to be, part of our lives, our
church, and our community. We also welcome bequests and non-memorial special
gifts. These might be an expression of gratitude to God, or they might be in
tribute to someone, or in honor of some special occasion, such as a Baptism,
Confirmation, Birthday, Marriage, or Anniversary. Such memorial or special
gifts can be made in any of the following ways.
-
GIFTS TO THE GENERAL MEMORIAL FUND
The Church Committee, considering suggestions from clergy, boards, and
parishioners, purchases needed furnishings and equipment for the church,
buildings and grounds.
-
MEMORIAL GIFTS FOR A SPECIFIED PURPOSE
Memorial contributions may be given for a specific project or item that
supports the worship and ministry of Oldtown Church. Depending on the amount
given, your donation may be combined with others to obtain the specified gift.
Residual amounts will revert to the General Memorial Fund.
-
GIFTS TO THE MUSIC MEMORIAL FUND
Your gift to the Music Memorial Fund is available for use by a vote of the
Music Committee for expenses in the Ministry of Music of our Church.
-
GENERAL ENDOWMENT FUND GIFTS
Annual interest from these gifts is available for the general operating
expenses of the First Congregational Church. The principal is maintained in
perpetuity, as a named line item, for donations of $500 or greater.
-
BUILDING FUND
Your gift to the Building Fund is available for use, by a vote of the Church
Committee, on renovation projects not included in the budget.
Memorials of $50 or more are permanently inscribed in our Book of
Remembrance, displayed in the narthex of the Meeting House. The nature of the
gifts, names of donors, and names and dates of those memorialized are included.
