CHRISTIAN EDUCATION COMMITTEE ANNUAL REPORT 2017

In February, the children made their famous vegetable soup to raise money for Food N’ Friends. A couple days later, we had our Mardi Gras Pancake Supper and a fun game of Bible Jeopardy.

On Palm Sunday, teachers and children dressed up as residents of Jerusalem and stood out in front of the church yelling, “Halleluiah!” and waving palms as everyone arrived for worship. I think the teachers had more fun than the students!

We had our annual Easter Egg Hunt, where the children had a great time decorating bags, hunting for eggs, and decorating sugar cookies. For Children’s Sunday, the children made their own Bibles and included their favorite stories.

July saw our Youth Group pool party, and in August, the teachers got together for a relaxing retreat in Little Compton at the Kingman’s house.

In September, we started back up with classes and Youth Group. We have had so much fun with Youth Group! Some of the activities have been mini golf, a Halloween party, a pasta supper, and of course plenty of “Minute to Win It” games! The children have asked if we could meet more than once a month, and that is great! We will look into meeting more often in the coming year.

At the holiday fair, the children had a table full of items that they made themselves. It was great to see the creativity and talent of our students.

The year ended with the children doing a wonderful Christmas Pageant. There were dancing angels and cute kings telling us the story of the birth of Christ. They worked hard on their parts, and we were all so proud of them!

We are looking forward to more Sunday School fun in the coming year!
