Attleboro Area Interfaith Collaborative Introduces Amie McCarthy as New Interfaith Chaplain
ATTLEBORO, MA – Attleboro Area Interfaith Collaborative is pleased to announce that Amie K. McCarthy will be serving as Interfaith Chaplain through the Collaborative. Additionally, she will be joining the spiritual care team at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, supporting the community of patients and families served by the hospital.
McCarthy recently completed her Master of Divinity at Boston University School of Theology. She is a Member in Discernment and in-care at Second Congregational Church in Attleboro. McCarthy is a certified Christian Educator in the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ. Her first unit of Clinical Pastoral Education was fulfilled at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, while assigned to Cardiology along with the Burn and Trauma ICU.
Following her graduation from Attleboro High School in 1999, McCarthy attended Keene State College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Lighting and Set Design in 2003. She subsequently worked at Mystic Scenic Studios prior to joining the staff at Second Congregational Church as Director of Christian Education. McCarthy is a Pastoral Intern at First Congregational Church in North Attleboro and can frequently be heard preaching at First Christian Congregational Church in Swansea.
A local resident, McCarthy is already familiar with the Collaborative. Coincidentally, she researched the organization for a church history assignment while in Seminary. Established in 1946, the Attleboro Area Interfaith Collaborative was previously known as the Attleboro Area Council of Churches.
McCarthy looks forward to developing collaborative relationships with clergy while bringing faith communities together.
