WELCOME / TIME OF CENTERING

CALL TO WORSHIP
Who are we?
We are disciples, following Jesus.
How do we live out our faith?
With fairness and dignity.
How shall we treat our neighbor?
With compassion and love.
Come, let us worship God.

SERMON

PREPARING OURSELVES FOR PRAYER
In moments like these, I sing out a song,
I sing out a love song to Jesus.

In moments like these, I lift up my hands.
I lift up my hands to the Lord.

Singing, “I love you, Lord.”
Singing, “I love you, Lord.”

Singing, “I love you, Lord. I love you.”

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and the LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

*BENEDICTION RESPONSE
Sent forth by God’s blessing, our true faith confessing
The people of God from this dwelling take leave.
The service is ended, O now be extended
The fruits of our worship in all who believe.
The seed of the teaching, receptive hearts reaching,
Shall blossom in action for God and for all.
God’s grace did invite us, and love shall unite us,
To work for God’s realm and to answer the call.

COFFEEHOUSE THIS FRIDAY
If you haven’t experienced a Coffeehouse in Oldtown, please stop by this Friday night to see the amazing talent from people in our community. If you would like to share a talent of your own via music or a poetry reading, the set list is always open for new additions! We ask for a donation of $5 at the door, and it’s $1 for a bottomless cup of coffee. This month’s charity is the North Attleboro Animal Shelter. Stop by to encourage our new Coffeehouse Crew and to support this great cause. If you would like to help at the coffeehouse, see Ed. There are volunteer opportunities building the set, serving coffee, and extending an Oldtown welcome to all who attend!

Did You Know?

A big “Welcome Back!” to all of our Oldtown family returning from their summer travels. We have some very exciting things planned for the fall and winter this year, and our Household Huddles are just a start! Opportunities to connect and get involved in the life of the church are EVERYWHERE!!!

“By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.”
