Our Historical Ministry was formed in 1972 to begin collecting items, many donated by members and friends, keeping records and occurrences of a historical nature and events of interest to the church. Members actively helped with the Bicentennial Celebration in 1976, the town’s Centennial in 1987, and various church anniversary celebrations. Our historical brochure was first created at that time. Maintaining the church archives is very important. Several people contact us for genealogical information about their families.
Each year as part of the North Attleboro school 3rd-grade study of the early history, a tour of the town’s historical sites takes place. Since the mid-1970s, our church at Oldtown has provided a presentation to students, teachers, and chaperones as they tour our church.
We proudly remember our past and look forward to our future. Read the latest posts from the Historical Ministry.
