Church Committee Meeting

Church committee meetings begin shortly after worship ends, and everyone’s had a chance to get a cup of coffee and a snack. We do our best to conclude all church committee business by 1pm. Meetings are attended by our pastor, officers of the church, and a representative from each church ministry. At these meetings, we discuss the business of the church. Our treasurer gives a report of the church’s financial situation, and ministries give reports of their recent activity and bring forward any requests for decision and action to the committee.

The church committee holds scheduled meetings six times a year in January, February, April, June, September, and November. Our next scheduled meeting is Sunday, June 1. Future meetings are planned for September 21, November 16, and January 11, 2026. Other church business is conducted outside that schedule via email or, if needed, by calling a special meeting.

All church ministry leaders are expected to ensure their ministry’s voice is represented at each church committee meeting by attending in person, having someone from the ministry attend the meeting in their place, or in some other way. If needed, online links to participate in the meeting virtually can be provided.

Meetings are open to anyone, but only church committee members can vote at a meeting. For more information, contact our moderator at moderator@oldtownucc.org.
