Annual Report of the Stewardship Ministry 2025

As a Congregational church, we are all charged with being good stewards of our church’s resources. The Stewardship Ministry assists with those efforts in various ways. The overwhelming majority of the church’s financial support comes from the congregation’s generosity through offerings during Sunday worship or online. Our online giving comes through the church website, which is maintained by the Stewardship Ministry. This makes it easy for people to support the church by setting up recurring or occasional offerings, as well as by making direct donations to the church’s building fund, memorial fund, or any of its various ministries.

Each week, our church bulletins include the Stewardship Corner, a brief paragraph and scripture that aligns with and amplifies Pastor Kelly’s message for the week. It also provides a quick snapshot of how our congregational giving is tracking with our budget. We try our best to communicate the church’s sometimes confusing financial information in a way that everyone can understand, working closely with the church treasurers. We are always available to answer any questions.

In addition to financial concerns, we also coordinate the online volunteering for help with our suppers and other events. Each year, we provide opportunities for local high school students and others to volunteer to meet community service requirements. Volunteers are always respectful, professional, and very helpful. When we don’t have as many church members available to help, they are essential for filling in and making our fundraising events a success. We have many volunteers who have helped with multiple suppers, and they enjoy the work as much as we enjoy the help.

We encourage everyone in the congregation to reflect on their passion and how it can be applied to help the church. Are you interested in advancing social justice, helping the homeless, or assisting folks experiencing food insecurity? Perhaps you love animals, or finding treasures at yard sales and thrift shops. Do you enjoy gardening, cooking, or tinkering around the house? Let the Stewardship Ministry show you how to channel that passion to work with like-minded people to advance the church’s mission and ministry by following Jesus’ call to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind while we continue to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our still speaking God.

Grace, Peace, and Blessings to all,
Jim Fennell for the Oldtown Stewardship Ministry
