At Oldtown, we help support the resources that equip our mission and ministry as disciples of Jesus by contributing to the Southern New England Conference of the UCC and the global UCC through what is called “proportional giving.” In years past, this used to be called “Fellowship Dues” or “conference membership dues.” Proportional giving is how local churches support the mission and work of the wider church, and it represents a scripturally-based way to give joyfully in proportion to the gifts we have received from God.
The amount that Oldtown gives as a church works about to about $20 per person, and we ask that everyone consider giving to support this mission. Those who are able might even consider giving a little more in recognition that not everyone is in a position to help. If you are able to help, you can give online at https://www.oldtownucc.org/giving, click on the big red “GIVE ONLINE” button, and remember to select “Wider Church” to indicate your gift is to support our proportional giving. Or you can mail a check to the church with “Wider Church” in the memo line. If you have any questions, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you’re interested in more information about Proportional Giving, check out this information on the SNEUCC website.
As always, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting your local church and the wider church of the SNEUCC and the UCC.
