We are so glad that you have chosen to worship with us today. We invite you to join in on the bold print in the bulletin and to stand as you are able any time you see a “*”. The restrooms are out the back door of the sanctuary to the right, as is the nursery in case your little one needs a walkabout. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, and please join us for coffee and refreshments after worship!
Please remember to mute your devices during worship.

CALL TO WORSHIP
This is the good news: the grave is empty; Christ is risen!
He is risen, indeed. Alleluia!
This is the good news: the light shines in the darkness and the darkness can never put it out!
Let the light shine. Alleluia!
This is the good news: once we were no people; now we are God’s people.
We gather here as the family of God. Alleluia!
Friends, we have a lot to celebrate.
Let our praises fill the air. Alleluia!

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Loving God, we confess that at times we do not share in the joy of the resurrection but are caught in the worries of the world. We confess that we do not always live in the spirit of new life but remain discontent, grumbling and anxious. Forgive us for not sharing in the Good News. Forgive us when we find it more comfortable to worry and complain than to risk the joy of new life in Christ. Call us back to Your ways, O God, that we might live lives of joy and peace. In the name o the risen Christ, we pray. Amen.

Open our eyes, Lord, we want to see Jesus.

PREPARING OURSELVES FOR PRAYER
In moments like these, I sing out a song,
I sing out a love song to Jesus.

In moments like these, I lift up my hands.
I lift up my hands to the Lord.

Singing, “I love you, Lord.”
Singing, “I love you, Lord.”

Singing, “I love you, Lord. I love you.”

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and the LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

HOUSEHOLD HUDDLE
Household Huddle meets from 9-9:45 in Maxcy Hall on Sunday mornings before worship. Everyone is invited and we especially encourage families to attend together. In sports, a huddle is an action of a team gathering together, usually in a circle, to strategize, motivate or celebrate; which is just what we do during our Household Huddles. Each Sunday Morning, we start by taking a deep breath. We have a time of sharing. We learn about the day’s Bible story. We talk about ways that we can get involved in worship. We give thanks. And we work together on a hands-on activity to help connect the day’s story to our everyday lives.

Did You Know?

  • Coffeehouses are a great tradition here at Oldtown, an opportunity to gather with friends for a night of music and poetry and to celebrate the talents in our community. We’re glad to be able to provide a safe space for the coffeehouses, but we need your help to keep it going. Our next coffeehouse is this Friday night starting at 7pm; setup starts between 4pm and 5pm. If you can lend a hand, please see Ed or Pastor Kelly. Remember, nothing happens at the church unless we make it happen!
  • “For we are God’s servants, working together; you are God’s field, God’s building.”
