INTROIT—”Come and Find a Quiet Center”

WELCOME AND TIME OF CENTERING
Gathered here in the mystery of the hour,
Gathered here in one strong body,
Gathered here in the struggle and the power,
Spirit draw near.

CALL TO WORSHIP
Let us trust in God
For God is our shelter in the storm.
Let us trust in God
For God delivers us from temptations and troubles.
Let us trust in God
For God heals us when disease and disasters strike.
Let us trust in God
For God offers us eternal life and shows us our salvation.
Let us trust in God
As we praise and worship God together.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Loving God, we have given more weight to our successes and our happiness than your will. We have eaten without a thought for the hungry, spoken without an effort to understand others, kept quiet instead of telling the truth, and taken the gifts you have given us for granted. Forgive us and help us to live as your disciples. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

A MOMENT TO IMAGINE

SERMON—”Imagine Needing a Home”

PREPARING OURSELVES FOR PRAYER
In moments like these, I sing out a song,
I sing out a love song to Jesus.

In moments like these, I lift up my hands.
I lift up my hands to the Lord.

Singing, “I love you, Lord.”
Singing, “I love you, Lord.”

Singing, “I love you, Lord. I love you.”

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and the LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

  • If you still haven’t seen the movie “I Can Only Imagine” that has been the inspiration for our Lenten themes this year, don’t forget it’s on Amazon Prime this month if you are an Amazon Prime subscriber. If you would like us to host another movie night after Easter to show the movie one more time, please let Jim Fennell know.
  • “In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.”
