WELCOME TO OLDTOWN

“Walking with Jesus isn’t a task to be performed, but a relationship to nurture.”
~ Suzanne Eller
Ministers: ALL of our Members and Friends
Pastor & Teacher: The Rev. Kelly Thibeault
Welcome to the Oldtown Church!
We are so glad that you have chosen to worship with us today. We invite you to join in on the bold print in the bulletin and to stand as you are able whenever you see a ⇑. The restrooms are out the back door of the sanctuary to the right, as is a little space in case your little one needs a walkabout. Here in Oldtown, we are all about being curious, so don’t be afraid to ask questions, and please join us for fellowship with coffee and refreshments after worship!
Finally, as a way of honoring our time together and truly loving our neighbor, we ask that you please silence your phone or, better yet, turn it off, so you can be truly present in worship.

CALL TO WORSHIP
Look all around you.
God’s love shines in the faces of others.
Look at the windows.
See the light shining in, reminding us that we are part of God’s world.
Look within your heart,
For God is there, longing to be seen.

SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
for Susan Kieronski
OPENING WORDS
PROMISES
Susan, do you desire to be baptized into the faith and family of Jesus Christ?
I do
Do you promise, by the grace of God, to be Christ’s disciple, to follow in the way of our Savior, to resist evil and oppression, to show love and justice, and to witness to the work and word of Jesus Christ as best as you are able?
I promise with the help of God.
Do you promise, according to the grace given you, to grow in the Christian faith, celebrating Christ’s presence and furthering Christ’s mission in all the world?
I promise with the help of God.
CONGREGATIONAL ASSENT
Jesus Christ calls us to make disciples of all nations and to offer them the gift of grace in baptism. Do you, as a congregation and as family and friends, promise your love, support, and care to Susan as she lives and grows in Christ?
All: We promise our love, support, and care.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. STEWARDSHIP CORNER
Weekly Giving
- Last week, we welcomed 44 people to worship, and our total giving to the church for the week was $1,291.30, which is $208.70 less than expected.
- Our congregational giving so far this year is $500 more than expected. Keep up the good work!
Summer is a time when we often travel to places both near and far. Don’t forget to take Jesus with you wherever you go, and not just Flat Jesus! Being familiar with scripture and referring to it often is a great way to bring Jesus with you and be ready to share the good news with others. Biblegateway.com is an excellent resource you can access anywhere on your smartphone, offering more than 60 English translations of the Bible. The translation we use at Oldtown is the New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition (NRSVUE). Reading other translations, such as The Message (MSG) or The Voice (VOICE), is an excellent way to gain a deeper understanding of the scripture.
I treasure your word in my heart, so that I may not sin against you. Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes. With my lips I declare all the ordinances of your mouth. I delight in the way of your decrees as much as in all riches. I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.
~ Psalms 119:11-16 (NRSVUE)
