⇑ OPENING HYMN C#286—”This Is The Day”

CALL TO WORSHIP
This is the day!
This is the day God’s people gather together.
This is the day!
This is the day we listen for God’s word.
This is the day!
This is the day we worship and give thanks to God.

PRAYER FOR LETTING GO
Loving God, we know that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed. We have not loved you with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. Help us to set things straight so that we might better follow you. Amen.

WORDS OF ASSURANCE

⇑ HYMN OF PRAISE
Neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers,
Nor trials in the present, nor any trials to come,
Neither height, nor depth, nor all of creation
Can ever separate us from the love of God
Poured out in Christ Jesus our Lord.

SHARING TIME
Change my heart, O God. Make it ever true.
Change my heart, O God. May I be like you.
You are the Potter. I am the clay;
Mold me and make me. This is what I pray.
Change my heart, O God. Make it ever true;
Change my heart, O God. May I be like you.

SCRIPTURE LESSON: John 2:13-22 (Oldtown Bible: NT 113)

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER

Weekly Giving

  • Last week, we welcomed 56 people in worship and a beautiful baptism ceremony, and our total giving to the church for the week was $1,117.43, which is $267.19 less than expected for the week.
  • So far, this year’s congregational giving is $850 more than we expected. Keep up the great work!!

This coming Saturday, March 9, we welcome folks back for our first “sit-down” supper of the year. It is a joy to be able to provide good food and an opportunity for great fellowship for our guests. We anticipate serving more takeouts than in years past as well. If you’d like to help, please see Ed Clavette or Jim Fennell.

And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
