OPENING PRAYER

CALL TO WORSHIP
The grave is empty; Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed, Alleluia!
The light shines in the darkness and the darkness can never put it out!
Let the light shine!
We are an Easter people.
We gather here as the family of God!
Friends, we have a lot to celebrate.
Let our praises fill the air!

⇑ OPENING HYMN C#216—”Christ the Lord is Risen Today”

TIME OF SHARING
Open our eyes, Lord; we want to see Jesus.
To reach out and touch Him and say that we love Him.
Open our ears, Lord, and help us to listen.
Open our eyes, Lord; we want to see Jesus.

The EASTER Story
Adapted from John 20:1-18 (Oldtown Bible: NT 140)

Early that morning…
“The Angel Rolled the Stone Away”

Alive, could it be?…
          “The Strife is O’er”

Sad and alone…
          “In the Garden”

Thankful and happy…
          “Christ Arose!”

Elated, she ran to tell all of her friends…
          “Alive, Alive”

Resurrection, new life, and hope…
          “He Lives”

EASTER REFLECTION

PREPARING FOR PRAYER
In moments like these, I sing out a song. I sing out a love song to Jesus. In moments like these, I lift up my hands. I lift up my hands to the Lord. Singing, “I love You, Lord.” Singing, “I love You, Lord.” Singing, “I love You, Lord. I love You.”

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Thank you for joining us on this glorious Easter Sunday to celebrate the best “Good News” of all:

HE IS RISEN!
HE IS RISEN, INDEED!

But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and indeed he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him.’ This is my message for you.” So they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to tell his disciples.
