LITANY OF REMEMBRANCE
We remember the great ancestors of our faith, from Abraham and Sarah to Paul and Phoebe:
Ancestors of the faith, we remember you.

We remember the prophets and priests, the ministers and teachers who have taught us the way of God:
Teachers of the faith, we remember you.

We remember our grandparents and parents, aunts and uncles, those who have gone before us in our lifetime:
Family of our faith, we remember you.

We lift up the memories of children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives and parents whose lives ended too soon:
Those close in our heart, we remember you.

PREPARING OURSELVES FOR PRAYER
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

BENEDICTION

BENEDICTION RESPONSE
Sent forth by God’s blessing, our true faith confessing,
The people of God from this dwelling take leave.
The service is ended, O now be extended
The fruits of our worship in all who believe.
The seed of our teaching, receptive hearts reaching,
Shall blossom in action for God and for all.
God’s grace did invite us, and love shall unite us,
To work for God’s realm and to answer the call.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

A big thank you to everyone that helped to make this year’s fair such a great success.

HELP FEED OUR COMMUNITY

Throughout the fall, we will be collecting non-perishable food items to share with our local food pantries. If everyone brought one item per week, the baskets would quickly become bountiful and help so many hungry neighbors. Requested items are: beans (white, black, or red), bags of white rice, pasta, tomato paste, tomato sauce, canned meats, canned fruit.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER

Weekly Giving

  • Last week, the total giving was $1,656.14, which is $204.22 more than expected for the week.
  • Our total giving for the year is $6,000 less than we expected it to be.

Next week will be Pledge & Promise Sunday when we ask everyone in the congregation to prayerfully consider what they can give of their time, talent, and treasure to help support the mission of the church during the coming year, and let us know. Completing the pledge & promise cards that will be given out next week helps us create a budget for the year based on pledged giving and plan for all the exciting things to come in 2023! Please spend some time in thought and prayer about how you can help.

“You know for yourselves that I worked with my own hands to support myself and my companions. In all this I have given you an example that by such work we must support the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, for he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
