CALL TO WORSHIP
Children of God, rejoice!
Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest!
Let us wave our palms branches high.
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
Jesus is coming, humble and riding on a donkey.
Glory to God in the highest!
Sing out with joy, for Jesus is here!
Let us all shout, Hosanna!

Open our eyes, Lord; we want to see Jesus.
To reach out and touch Him and say that we love Him.
Open our ears, Lord, and help us to listen.

SERMON – “With a Little Help From Our Friends”

PREPARING OURSELVES FOR PRAYER
In moments like these, I sing out a song. I sing out a love song to Jesus. In moments like these, I lift up my hands. I lift up my hands to the Lord. Singing, “I love You, Lord.” Singing, “I love You, Lord.” Singing, “I love You, Lord. I love You.”

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER

Weekly Giving

  • Last week, our total giving to the church was $886.14, which is $368.58 less than expected.
  • So far, this year’s congregational giving is $3,050 more than we expected. Keep up the great work!!

As this Holy Week begins, remember there is more to the story than just waving palms one Sunday and celebrating the next. From Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Monday to the cleansing of the temple on Tuesday, the preparation and the last supper on Wednesday and Thursday, the crucifixion on Friday, and the seemingly endless waiting on Saturday. Join us at Oldtown on Thursday evening at 7pm as we tell stories of Jesus in the words of those who knew Him in our Maundy Thursday worship and again on Friday evening at 7pm as we revisit the last words of Jesus on the cross.

“Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death; then they will hand him over to the gentiles; they will mock him and spit upon him and flog him and kill him, and after three days he will rise again.”
