SERMON: “Follow Me”

PREPARING OURSELVES FOR PRAYER
Open my eyes that I may see
Glimpses of truth thou hast for me.
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.
Silently, now, I wait for thee,
Ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my eyes. Illumine me, Spirit divine!

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

BENEDICTION

BENEDICTION RESPONSE (C#434)
Sent forth by God’s blessing, our true faith confessing,
The people of God from this dwelling take leave.
The service is ended. O now be extended
The fruits of our worship in all who believe.
The seed of the teaching, receptive hearts reaching
Shall blossom in action for God and for all.
God’s grace did invite us, and love shall unite us
To work for God’s realm and to answer the call.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER

Weekly Giving

  • Our first week of worship in 2024 brought snow and a cancellation of worship. Still, we received $243.43 in online giving!
  • Last week, with our first worship gathering of the year, we welcomed 55 people in worship, and thanks to some generous “first fruits” gifts, our total giving to the church for the week was $4,148.16, which is $2,800 more than expected for the week.
  • So far, this year’s congregational giving is $1,600 more than we expected. Keep up the great work!!

Today we hold our church’s ANNUAL MEETING where we gather the congregation to review the church’s finances for the previous year and budget for the coming year, and discuss and vote on any other business to be brought before the church. We also welcome six new members today as we celebrate the past year and look to the future with excitement! Praise God who makes all things new!!!

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
