WORSHIP WAYS

CALL TO WORSHIP
God calls us from many places;
Some of us come from busy homes with many people, and some of us live alone,
but we are all a part of the family.

This week has been different for each of us;
Some of us have had happy news we want to celebrate, and some of us have faced grief and need to cry, but we are all important members of the family.
We all come to this same place;
All of us seeking God’s presence in our lives and all of us seeking God’s presence with each other, because together we are all God’s family!

TIME OF SHARING
Open our eyes, Lord. We want to see Jesus,
To reach out and touch Him, and tell Him we love Him.
Open our ears Lord, and help us to listen.
Open our eyes, Lord. We want to see Jesus.

SERMON—”Rainbow Moments”

PREPARING OURSELVES FOR PRAYER
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

BENEDICTION

BENEDICTION RESPONSE
Sent forth by God’s blessing, our true faith confessing,
The people of God from this dwelling take leave.
The service is ended, O now be extended
The fruits of our worship in all who believe.
The seed of our teaching, receptive hearts reaching,
Shall blossom in action for God and for all.
God’s grace did invite us, and love shall unite us,
To work for God’s realm and to answer the call.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER

Weekly Giving

  • The total giving for last week was $943.80, which is $508.12 less than expected for the week.
  • Our total giving for the year is $2,600 less than we expected it to be.

A Congregationaional Church is its congregation. The front of our bulletin says that our ministers are ALL of our members and friends. We all work together to make everything that happens at the church happen. Our church exists because we all volunteer our time, talent, and treasure, and we make Oldtown what it is. If you have ideas for any of our ministries, new fundraising ideas, new ideas for adult education, fellowship, or faith-building, bring them forward and work with one of our ministries or talk with the Stewardship ministry to determine how best to bring those ideas to life in the church.

“Today, if we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”
~ Mother Teresa, Where There is Love, There is God (2010)

“Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.”
~ James 1:16-18 (NRSVUE)
