CALL TO WORSHIP
Come and worship,
You who woke early, and you who slept late;
You who worship often, and you who don’t.
Whether we are first or last or somewhere in between, there is room for all of us in God’s kingdom,
And there is more than enough grace to go around.
Let’s worship God together!

Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

BENEDICTION

BENEDICTION RESPONSE
Sent forth by God’s blessing, our true faith confessing,
The people of God from this dwelling take leave.
The service is ended, O now be extended
The fruits of our worship in all who believe.
The seed of our teaching, receptive hearts reaching,
Shall blossom in action for God and for all.
God’s grace did invite us, and love shall unite us,
To work for God’s realm and to answer the call.

COME TO THE TABLE
An Adult Spirituality Series

On Wednesday nights at 6pm during the month of September, we will be offering an adult spirituality series titled “Come to the Table.” It will be a time to gather, break bread, share a cup of soup, and reflect on one of the sacred stories of our faith. This is not simply a time of food and fellowship but rather a sacred time to stretch our hearts and minds as we deepen our faith and feed our souls. Though we try to include all ages in everything we do in Oldtown, this series is geared toward adults.

THE FALL FAIR IS APPROACHING!

Nine weeks and counting! It’s not too late if you would like to get involved. Whether you are crafting, baking, or working a table, there are many jobs that will need to be filled. Please reach out to Kris Collins or Deanne Belanger if you would like to help out in any way. A big THANK  YOU to all who have offered their help! WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!! There will be a very brief fair meeting on Sunday, September 25th, right after worship, to see how things are moving along.

HELP FEED OUR COMMUNITY

Throughout the fall, we will be collecting non-perishable food items to share with our local food pantries. If everyone brought one item per week, the baskets would quickly become bountiful and help so many hungry neighbors.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER

Weekly Giving

  • The total giving for last week was $1,205.02, which is $246.90 less than expected for the week.
  • Our total giving for the year is $4,750 less than we expected it to be.

Exciting opportunities to help support the mission of the Oldtown Church are coming more frequently as we plan for the remainder of the year and look ahead to next year. If you can help out with next week’s Yard Sale, please reach out to Ed Clavette to see where you can help. This year’s Fall Fair will take place on Friday, November 11, and Saturday, November 12. There’s plenty to do to get ready for the fair, and we could use help from everyone. There will be a brief meeting next Sunday after worship to discuss progress on the planning for the fair. If you have questions about the fair, please reach out to Kris Collins or Deanne Bellinger.

“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace”
